Meet Recap

On September 10th (2016), the South Summit X-Country Team left in the early morning to head to one of the toughest courses of the year, the Wasatch Invitational at Soldier Hollow. Because of the toughness of the course, the times were much slower than the racers’€™ normal times. The first race was the Fresh/Soph Girls that two girls out of the four attended, Jillian Tillett and Katelyn Lewis. Katelyn ended her first race with a 33:25, followed by Jillian (37:08). The following race was the Boys Fresh/Soph race that only one racer from South Summit ran in, (Freshmen) Sam Galati, who ended with a 23:25. The Boys JV team wasn’€™t able to place in the race because of limited racers that went to the meet. As the JV team was coming in to the final stretch of the race, the leader, Braxton Booth (with a 20:26) placed 34th out of 129 runners, an improvement from his time last year by over 3 minutes! (2015-23:31) Jackson Dean also improved greatly by over 5 ½ minutes! (2015-27:18) Brevin Riehl ended his race with a 24:23, followed behind by Julio Campos (28:57).   Article by Brevin Riehl
