On October 19, SSHS Cross Country qualifiers headed to State at Sugar House Park. Our two girls, Senior Abby Laswell and Junior Cassidy Eiting, shot into the top 25 runners in the first quarter mile. Their experience and training paid off as the girls seemed to easily make their way up the hills and hold their own on the flats. Abby (21:41) placed 23rd and Cassidy finished 34th (22:18) out of a field of 84 top 2A runners in the state. Great Job Ladies!
Junior Braxton Booth also made his move early in the boys’ race, quickly finding a good position in the fast field of runners, then held onto his spot for most of the race. In the final stretch, he passed several other runners and finished 21st (out of 93) with an impressive time of 17:46. Must be the Mountain Dew and donut diet. Congratulations on both races well run!
